The Burnaby/New Westminster newcomer volunteer team (around 22 volunteers) planted, grew, and donated planters for seniors living in Harmony House, a senior housing facility in Vancouver.  Many seniors are experiencing isolation and loneliness during the pandemic. Thus, our dedicated volunteers wanted to show their love and concern for seniors by donating indoor plants so that they could know that someone is thinking about them and their well-being during the pandemic.

Here’s what our volunteers had this to say about their experience:

Jenny: “I could get a taste of volunteering which suits my interests and skills. I am very happy to donate plants for seniors. I want to continue to join volunteer activities at SUCCESS”.

Kelly: “I joined the activity with my family. My whole family enjoyed growing plants to donate to seniors. I really appreciate this opportunity to help others during this pandemic. I felt more connected and involved in the community.I would like to continue volunteering for the community”.
